Reasons for reamer problems

The aperture is bigger, the error is bigger

The design value of external diameter of reamer is too large or the edge of reamer has burr. Excessive cutting speed; Improper supply or excessive machining allowance; The main deflection Angle of reamer is too large; Reamer bending; The edge of the reamer is attached with a chip tumor. The edge pendulum difference of reamer is too poor when grinding. Improper selection of cutting fluid; When reamer is installed, the surface of the taper handle is greasy or there is a bump on the cone surface. The flat tail offset of the taper shank is loaded into the cone interference of the back taper shank of the machine tool spindle. Spindle bending or spindle bearing too loose or damaged; The reamer is not flexible in floating; Different from the workpiece; When the hand reamer hole, the two hands force is not even, so that the reamer shake left and right.

Aperture to narrow

The design value of external diameter of reamer is small. Too low cutting speed; Too much supply; The main deflection Angle of reamer is too small; Improper selection of cutting fluid; The abrasion part of the reamer is not polished off when cutting edge is grinding. When reaming steel parts, the residual amount is too large or the reamer is not sharp, which is easy to generate elastic recovery and reduce the aperture. The inner hole is not round and the hole diameter is not qualified.

The hinged inner hole is not round

The reamer is too long, not rigid enough, and vibration is generated when reamer is hinged. The main deflection Angle of reamer is too small; Narrow reaming blade; Deviation of hinge hole allowance; There are gaps and cross holes on the surface of the inner hole; There are sand holes and air holes on the surface of the hole; Spindle bearing loose, no guide sleeve, or too large clearance between reamer and guide sleeve; Because the thin-walled workpiece is clamped too tightly, the workpiece deforms after unloading.

Excessive reaming allowance; The rear Angle of the reamer cutting part is too large; The reaming blade is too wide; The workpiece surface has air holes and sand holes; The spindle swing is too large.

The inner hole surface roughness value is high

Excessive cutting speed; Improper selection of cutting fluid; The main deflection Angle of the reamer is too large, and the edge of the reamer is not on the same circumference. Too much reaming allowance; The residual amount of hinge hole is not uniform or too small, and the local surface is not hinged. Hinged cutting parts of the hinged tool have a poor swing, not sharp edge, rough surface; The reaming blade is too wide; Poor chip removal during reaming; Excessive wear of reamer; The reamer is injured, and the edge has a burr or a broken edge. There is a chip tumor on the edge; Due to the material relationship, it is not suitable for zero degree front Angle or negative front Angle reamer.

The service life of reamer is low

Improper reamer materials; The reamer burns when the blade is being sharpened; The cutting fluid is not selected properly and the cutting fluid cannot flow smoothly. The surface roughness value of reamer blade is too high after grinding.

The position precision of the reaming hole is too poor

Guide sleeve wear; The bottom end of the guide sleeve is too far from the workpiece; Short guide sleeve length and poor precision; Spindle bearing is loose.

Reamer teeth collapse edge

Excessive reaming allowance; The workpiece material hardness is too high; Excessive swing of cutting edge and uneven cutting load; The main deflection Angle of reamer is too small, which makes the cutting width increase. When reaming a deep hole or blind hole, too much chip is cut and not cleaned timely. When the edge is grinding, the teeth of the knife have cracked.

Break the hinge handle

Excessive reaming allowance; When reaming the taper hole, it is not appropriate to choose the residual amount of coarse and fine hinge and cutting amount. The teeth of reamer have small chip capacity and the chip is blocked.

The center line of the reaming hole is not straight

Borehole deflection before reaming hole, especially when the hole diameter is small, cannot correct the original bending degree due to the poor rigidity of reamer. The main deflection Angle of reamer is too large; Poor guide makes the reamer easy to deviate from the direction in hinging. Excessive taper of cutting part; The reamer moves in the middle of the intermittent hole. When reaming a hand hole, too much force is exerted in one direction, forcing the reamer to skew towards one end, which damages the perpendicularity of the reaming hole.
